Welcome to Wing Tennis Club

Wing Tennis Club is a small club near Leighton Buzzard. It is one of the friendliest and best value clubs around. Why not try it for yourself and come along to social tennis on a Sunday morning. Non-members are welcome to try a few sessions for free before deciding whether to join the club. It's an excellent way to keep yourself fit and healthy and a great way to meet new people.

The club was founded in 1989 and the courts, together with the bowls green, were opened in 1991. The three courts are constructed on the site of the old interwar grass courts that had been abandoned at the start of WWII. Lou Woodward, the last of the grass court champions opened the courts and donated the cup he won in 1939 to the club. During his opening speech Lou complained that modern-day racquets were too strong! The cup is still used today for the annual club championships.

The committee is currently working hard secure funds to redevelop the courts. We are looking to replace the current tarmac courts, install floodlighting and new fencing to provide up-to-date, safe, modern facilities for use by the whole community.
